Malina Labowsky
Whale Watching Guide & Environmental Scientist
Malina studied Environmental Sciences at the University of Hildesheim in Germany, specialising in Biology and Geography. This provided her with a solid foundation in environmental processes, protection and sustainability. Her passion for the marine world has driven her to delve deeper into the lives of its inhabitants and the conservation of their natural habitat.
She chose Lobosonda because she strongly identifies with their philosophy, particularly their respectful approach to wildlife encounters. To her, the well-being of the animals always comes first. She also loves the idea of combining education with meaningful encounters with nature. She wants to help people discover this world, share her knowledge of the animals, and hopefully plant a seed of conservation in their hearts.
Having grown up by the Baltic Sea, she has always felt at home, safe and most connected to herself in the ocean. What fascinates her most is that the ocean feels like a parallel world that we still have so much to discover about. While humans have explored, inhabited and changed almost every corner of the planet, there is still so much mystery beneath the surface.
The ocean and its inhabitants remind her of how much there is left to understand and protect.
She finds it very difficult to choose a favourite species. Pilot whales have captured her heart because she is fascinated by the strong bonds within their groups and the close connections they share. They are also simply beautiful and mesmerising animals. She also loves Atlantic spotted dolphins for their curious and playful nature. They have already provided her with countless beautiful moments out on the ocean.
