Fahrten, trips, viagens 13.07.2010

Seit einigen Tagen hatten wir schon keine Bartenwale mehr gesehen (statt dessen hatten wir mehrere Sichtungen von Pottwalen), heute sahen wir endlich wieder welche: Brydewalmutter und Kalb. Leider hat die Mutter einen starken Schnitt in der Finne. Einmal ist der große Wal auch neben unseerem Boot hergetaucht.

Since some days we didn’t see any baleen whales (insted we had some sightings of sperm whales), today we saw some: bryde’s whale mother and calf. Unfortunatly the mother showed a injury on its dorsal fin, looking like being cuted. Once the big whale dived beside and along our vessel.

Desde alguns dias não temos visto baleias de barbas (em vez disso tivemos vários avisamentos de cachalotes), hoje então, finalmente encontramos alguns: baleia tropical mãe e cria. Infelizmente a mãe mostra um corte feio na dorsal. Uma vez a baleia adulta mergulhou ao lado da nossa embarcação.

    I would just inform you that the tern isn’t a Dougall’s tern (sterna Dougallii) but a young Common tern (sterna hirundo)

      Thanks a lot, with birds I’m not so good, but I was so sure… will correct it just now.
