31.10.2017 – Where do whales go to the toilet?
A day full with trips, 2 on our old timer Ribeira Brava and 3 on the speedy Stenella and lots of kids onboard. Autumn holidays in Europe and the month of October says goodbye with Bottlenose dolphins and Bryde’s whales on all of our tours. Like always in the end of each month I have a lot of paperwork to do, so I will only count one story about the outings today: the defecation from the tropical whale. With sperm whales I already had experienced such squits with all my senses, specially the smell! But this mother whale didn’t left any smell, only a big patch. These whale dispersions, by the way, fertilize our oceans and make sure that the food chain stays intact. Where humans have diminished the whales (f.ex through whaling), as well the plankton, krill and fish has dramatically decreased. And now: who knows where the whales go to toilet?
