“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated”.

Mahatma Gandhi

I often remember this saying when we are out on the ocean experiencing the beauty, while elsewhere there are thousands of whales and dolphins being captured, agonized and killed. Norway now kills more Baleen whales than Island and Japan together. Japan’s mission to kill thousands of dolphins every season in the little bay called Taiji has not yet found an end to this problem. On the Faroe Islands the big killing of Pilot whales starts soon and on the Sea World Theme Parks animals are kept captive for people´s amusing. Where do we stand in our evolution if this is still happening? Not a rosy picture for these nations nor the humankind!!

But when we are out on the ocean with all its goodness and perfection and we share the joy of experiencing something so fantastic and our guests are interested and informed I have hope. Therefore I inwardly say thank you, every time. Today we had the pleasure to observe the great Atlantic Spotted dolphin. In their nursery school were tiny little babies big in contrast, was the huge tale of a Sperm whale we observed when he dived down. A majestic picture!
