01.03.2019 – Shiny start
Things went fairly back to normal for us today at Lobosonda as we kicked off the month of March with our freshly-painted Ribeira Brava back on salty water. Our „old gal“ went through hours of maintenance at the hands of our hard-working crew and is looking absolutely splendid. The nature of our afternoon tour matched our gleaming boat, as did the blissful mood on board thanks to our lovely guests. Our spotter lead our traditional boat to a herd of Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) and to a small group of large, oceanic Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus).
The trip on our zodiac didn’t fail to disappoint either and helped us start the day just how we like it best here at Lobosonda. We saw a total of four species that included both Bottlenose dolphins and Short-finned pilot whales as well as Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) and Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). What an incredible start to the month, we are definitely ready for more!
